Roulette and "The Sting"

Ever catch the movie The Sting? I was channel surfing the other night and stopped very near the opening scene.

In two minutes I was hooked. A great flick with plenty of gambling to go with the whole 1930's con-game theme.

There's a great scene where Robert Redford's character, Hooker, gets a crash course in roulette. If you haven't seen the movie, it's well worth the time!

Years ago I saw an episode of The Rockford Files where Rockford (James Garner) is in Las Vegas showing a pretty woman how to make bets at the roulette table.

Then he tells her about biased roulette wheels and how he makes money finding them. Got my attention real fast! Roulette's been a smooth and fine ride for me ever since!

There is a mystique to roulette, just something I don't find at other games. Maybe it's the elegance of the wheel and the symmetry of the layout. I don't really know.

Next time you're at a casino, take roulette for a spin and see how you like it!
